Greetings,
If you have an elk photo with the score, could you please reply with it? I've done some searches and bought some books. But this site has been the most helpful for me.

Great thread with some great bulls. Glad to see we're back on topic.
guess its dissrespectful to show a kid with his mom
351 6/8 Gross and only 323 1/8 Net. This guy is pretty lopsided. The right side has a TON of mass (32") but short fronts. The left side is still pretty heavy but with much longer tines. Main beams are 55 2/8 and 56 6/8" But only got 33 3/8 inches of spread credit. Truly a BIG bull, but in this case he wasn't built to score well. Unfortunately, the pics I took after I arrowed him, didn't turn out, so no field phots:)
My bro didn't score this one officially, but the field score was 31 6/8".
Looks like you scored on some top grade steak t0 me Grin

All great animals, and like deer scores, sometimes a lesser scoring animal can kill one with larger antlers.
Sometimes one should consider just mass on an animal, and I am sure the bulls feel that way way when anticpating a fight. My point is....
tyical and symmetry are nice, but the animal world does not recognize what "we " consider typical or symetrical beauty ( and I love the split of the whales tails on the 6x6 or better). THis is why I notice many bulls ( stag or elk) adding barbed wire or branches on their frames, to intimdate other bulls. IT was very evident in New Zealand, the red stag bulls tear up the barbed wire and run around with it on their antlers unitl they shed both sides. I got to keep a 330 red stag shed that had wire on the antlers. Arrowed a 325 drop tine and 336 typical, and stalking them is very tough.
Enough of the huge bulls...how about a so so bull. This years bull netted 258"

Great pictures everybody, thanks for posting them.
Fawn has them all beat!! If predator was any farther back he would need a tag for a different unit! Nice pictures everyone, enjoyable.

those are some great elk and great pictures....I particularly like the pack out pics. Thanks folks...very useful to see scored elk for future reference in the field...if I can only remember in the heat of the moment.
