I am starting to feel the excitement of my upcoming elk hunt in Montana. I have been looking at weather forecast already and sure hope the weather works out for our week up there. We start hunting on the 21st. I sure pray the bulls are rocking when we get there. I am going to buy some new camo for that type of terrain. Any suggestions? I am definitely starting to dream a little...

What part of Montana are you going to be hunting? It makes a difference between the Mountains or the eastern part of Montana.

I too get back to Montana on the 21st to start elk hunting... although I'll be a bit farther west than you about an hour from Missoula. Good luck to everyone, will be my first time chasing elk.

I hear you on looking at the weather but keep in mind that mountains can create their own weather conditions subject to change at any minute. I'd hate to be the weatherman in the Bitterroot. They are wrong more often than not.

Noxon! More luck to you Odin. It's all or nothing up there. You might not see an elk until it's time to release an arrow. Are you outfitted or DIY?
