I am thinking about biting the bullet and getting a Garmin on the way out to Montana and loading up xmap on there. I think it could keep me from axidently getting across lines and show access roads and generally keep me hunting instead if standing around trying to decide if I can cross a fence etc. Think this is a good investment?

They are great for land ownership, but they do not differentiate whether a road is legal to access public land. Many don't realize the latter and if the road is not publicly maintained you cannot access public land without the permission of the private property owner.

That's because wherever you a Turkey is gobbling he is legal. His gobble is a death contract.

It's a good app. Learn what it'll do and what you can make your GPS do.

TBM, give a look at these map chips. We use them in our handheld and vehicle dash mount gps. Works awesome. Keeps you confident when out hunting. They are a much better deal in my opinion as well.
