Colorado GMU 55

To any of you who archery hunted elk in GMU 55….I am heading out there next week from UT with my father who has a 2nd season deer tag. He’s not one for bow hunting but I plan to burn my points next year for an archery deer hunt there.

I know this is a popular archery elk unit and was hoping some of you that hunted elk there this year might give some input as to what the deer herd looked like and if any big bucks were spotted. I spent a few days there on a scouting trip in August but we will be hunting it for the first time.

Any recommendations for areas to set up a trailer camp on the north end of the unit or areas to check out for deer would be a huge help.
