This is starting to put a damper on my Elk hunting and 40+ years of tournament archery. It's been a slight annoyance for a year or more. Got bad before hunting season so I went in and got the Juice. Now it's back and a pain, literally. Not really interested in fiddling with it for months, just want it gone like everybody else that has problems. I see shock wave and scraping, then on to arthroscopy are the treatments. Is that it for choices?
FINDINGS: There is no fracture or dislocation of the right shoulder. Mild glenohumeral and acromioclavicular joint degenerate hypertrophy is appreciated.
There is a large focus of amorphous calcification in the region of the distal rotator cuff. Right shoulder apex is clear.
IMPRESSION: 1. Mild degenerative osteoarthrosis of the right shoulder girdle. 2. Findings consistent with calcific tendinosis.
i just went through a 5 month regimen to rid myself of elbow tendonitis and it hurt my mental well being not to shoot all summer...just when I was getting good with my recurve too. Hope you figure it out.
Have you done extended PT?
Some guys also do prolotherapy, but the data is mixed.
You need to start with a couple months of intense PT with a good therapist (and they are not all created equal) before considering the invasive stuff.
If you go the surgical route, do yourself a favor and go with someone who just does shoulders and has a good reputation.
I got the juice the 1st of Sept, and haven't done a thing but hunt since.
How is PT going to break up the calcium deposits?
One thing-in my experience, all cortisone injections aren't equal. Getting one from your reg doc and getting one from an ortho specialist has been night and day different for me.
