I know we still have some seasons still open this year, but what are everyone's plans for next year? Lets try to keep this on track, but I don't mind if you mention gun hunts as long as you have a bow hunt on the agenda too!

For me, I will be out of this transitional job situation and will have vacation time but my kids will be starting college so its going to be another balancing act for the 2015 season)

Aug: WY Antelope (Archery)

Sep: CO Deer/Elk 2 different hunts (both Archery)

Oct: CO Deer (rifle)

Nov: CO Elk (rifle)

After pheasant hunting in Kansas a bit this fall, I am thinking Kansas for Whitetail in 2016, but not sure of Rifle or Bow for that.

Only 1 month until Wyo apps!!!

Will be headed there for elk, bow either 1st or 2nd choice.

Only plan is NW Colorado archery elk cashing out 20 PP's as a group with dad.

A Desert Bighorn tag would also give me a November Plan if that were to happen.

I can relate to the kid in college thing with my daughter down in Louisiana.

Mathews = 20points - that will be a good hunt! and couple it with a DBH tag - what a season.

Still have some deer hunting in Pa then I'll finish the winter hunting running the beagles for rabbits before waiting for spring turkey to cure my cabin fever.

Then it will be moose in Alaska with MixedBag, then elk in Wyoming. Kind of a short schedule but the moose trip is taking quite a bit of time and money. That Special Elk tag isn't cheap either!

The moose threads have been making me drool.

I hope to be hunting mule deer and javelina shortly after the New Year!

02-Dec-14
Still have a late cow elk tag to fill this year but as far as 2015 it will start with TX hogs in Feb then spring bear and yard bird. Beyond that it will depend on what fall tags are drawn here in WY.

After an extremely busy 2014, with little time to hunt, I must have a better year next year!!

KS turkey in the spring, and maybe CO as well if I want to cash in my points.

Plenty of fishing throughout the spring and summer.

Not sure which seasons yet, but definitely elk and mule deer in CO.

There will be a whitetail trip in there, most likely Illinois again.

Beyond that, I've decided I will go ahead and draw RMB sheep and moose in Colorado, so the rest of you shouldn't even bother applying in April. :)

From: Mule Power

Atta boy Nick... stay close to home in September so you can be my support crew/sat phone hookup/chauffer/hotel guy. :-)

How far is it to Delta Meats? Looks far. How long for them to turn around a moose?

If you or Blacktail Bob need a Sherpa let me know!

After reading Bob's and Nick's posts I want to take mine back. When do y'all come up for air ? Good luck to all of you !

02-Dec-14
Joe,

I may be wrong, but you're damn near as old as me aren't you? If I hire a Sherpa, he's going to have young strong legs.

From: Mule Power

I have 150 hunts planned for 2015...But none are for me!

03-Dec-14
Joe,

Heck, you're still a young stud. You better start taking better care of your self. I thought you were older than that!!!

03-Dec-14
Possibly going bou hunting right before xmas. Dec 28-31 I'll be home in San Diego with a few days left on my late season mulie tag.

January I'll be in AZ looking for a coues and probably shooting a forky mule deer - only 5 weeks to go :) I can't wait for this hunt!

March-April is San Diego Turks

Late July I plan on hitting the A zone for archery blacktail, but may wait till August to hit the lost coast so I can get some abalone in Mendo.

Sept will have me in elk country for 1-3 hunts with a possible mulie tag and hopefully AK bou.

A week of Oct will be local mulies.

November I'm going to hunt WT again, but looking at hitting the north woods this time. Going to hit 2 states. Also local mulies again on each end of my November-December work month.

This is, of course, pending the draws. A moose or sheep tag would be a golden wrench in the gears.

Wise guy. No, seriously... you are a wise old guy. I could tell that you were wise before you were old too when I met Lisa. ;-)

So am I hired? Why don't you get a guide or outfitter's license so I can kill a sheep goat or griz. That would be sufficient pay!

September - dove hunting in Ala

October/November/December - whitetail hunting Ala/Tenn

I'm trying to hold off hiring a Sherpa (packer) as long as possible. I actually had to help Roy pack a deer out this past month, so I'm still holding up at the best part of 60 years of age. I think the Sherpa is in the cards in the future though.

Can you believe she's tolerated having me around this long? We were just discussing it last night, 35 years this month. I think I'll take her Coues deer hunting for our anniversary.
