Had to share this because it's a really big bull and I loved the story behind it.
I'm sure Bigdan's glad they took this one out of the gene pool. ;-)
I think he found my MT honey hole :<
Louis,
Isn't that the one you passed up so TBM could kill it!
Hopefully he filled out the tag before he even walked over to it and attached it while the bull was still kicking. lol FWP would love to have that one mounted back at headquarters. Heck of a bull no doubt.
I hope the tag is on a hind leg...otherwise watch out!!!
From what I can see, the tag is on the left antler, attached with electrical tape...
Looks like there might be some red stag in the gene pool. Or maybe he's just "deformed". :0)
"Shot 4 times, hit him twice...."
Congrats to the hunter. A dandy bull for sure.
Honestly in this day and age it's pretty cool to see a bull on public land that can hide out to live long enough to be a 400" bull. He lived a heck of a life I bet. Strong, smart and a bit charmed as well I'd bet. We salute you....
A monster. Very cool to see an animal of that caliber on public land.
Incredible!
Congrats to the hunter!

Someone "notable" once told me Big Bulls could and do travel great distances ..... like 70 miles or so .... Nice Bull, (but I'd rather DAN M. had put him down with a arrow!)
Awesome bull. A last minute bull too boot!
"Shot 4 times, hit him twice...."
“I didn’t want to see him get into the timber..."
Hit it with the first shot and then the next three were follow-up shots as the bull was making for the timber?
“I hunted really hard the last week once it started snowing,” Schwalbe, 61, said Monday. “I had been out 15 different times looking for a big elk. I had gotten one that was six-by-seven and I told myself I wasn’t going to shoot anything smaller. … I was chewing the corners off my tag. I figured I was eating it.”
“I usually just shoot them, take them home, butcher them and eat them,” he said. “This is the first picture of any of my animals."
Love it!
