I don't know how this guy held it together...damn!
That guy has MOXEY! I would have peed my pants! Lol, Mike
Good thing that bear saw the big rock the guy had in his hand!
Definition of a bluff charge IMHO!
The crap in my pants wouldn't be a bluff though.
"The crap in my pants wouldn't ba a bluff though."
Bluff discharge
I am surprised that guy was able to walk with those bowling balls in his pants.
Bet the guy knew it it got real he could outrun the camera man. :-)
I am surprised the camera person even hung as long as he/she did.
I'd have pooped down both legs!!
Come on man...that bear kept retracing his exact steps. There was some kind of barriers therr...and electricity fence or something.
Wow...that guy doesn't have stones...he's just not smart enough to know that he was almost lunch.
Timothy Treadwell the second....
why is there a camera person there? something fishy here imo.
You can see in the first part of the video there was at least one cub and this was likely a sow that was bluff charging.
If this guy was knowingly in grizz country, he should have had some kind of protection....either spray or a side arm. But not having either, what would you do Caddisflinger?
I know I'm being "that guy" but there's something about that vid I'm just not buying.
Oh c'mon guys! He just wanted to play a little! ;)

This bear forgot to not try the bluff charge on everyone.
Sometimes you just know it's a bluff, but when you see the ears pinned back - look out....
You got to wonder if the bear knows he scaring the crap out of people and is doing it for fun lol. That guy is one cool customer, I guess that's all you can do is stand your ground and hope for the best.
While in Alaska hunting moose hunt in 2005, I had a brownie charge in like a thoroughbred racehorse. I was alone and when it happened everything seemed to happen in slow motion. She charged from about 50 yards and stopped at 8 feet and stood on my backpack while she caught her breath.
My bear turned and ran away as fast as she came in after a 5 second face to face pause.
They are truly amazing animals.
This guy must have some serious experience with bears or be confident in whomever is backing him up.
One thing that is for certain, I would not have needed Metamucil that day.
I had one come in while moose hunting in Alaska, but after standing upright at point blank range and woofing a few times, ran off in the same direction that it came. I had the gun up and ready but thankfully didn't need it. Once was more than enough.
What you couldn't see that the bear obviously saw, was the Rage broadhead the guy was holding in his hand. It's common knowledge that all you have to do is come close and it will kill like lighting struck, that bear obviously has heard all the reports and wanted no part of it.
TBM,
I disagree .....how many bear hunts have you been on, where you were on the ground? Even dogs will feign an attack and loop around .... I have seen bears act in a similar fashion.....especially adolescent bears.
Perhaps you may have considerable experience hunting around fences...regardless of height....but applying that experience to a grizzly bear that lives no less than thousands of miles from you probably provides a weak analogy, at best.
The smartest thing that guy did was stand his ground....(for the most part).
Wonder which way the wind was blowing....
Ron Niziolek X 2....Ears aren't laid back....
TBM - Alabammies leading authority on Grizzly Bear Charges - yet another feather in your jaunty cap! Rock on Total Blow(hard) Meister!
Bringin' a rock to a bear fight.....
What are you going to do? Turning and running would likely be the worst thing you can do. Been bluffed a couple times by black bear.... grizz are a different animal for sure. We was moving around a bit to keep that tree between them.
Never know though... our gov'ment is apparently planting those hidden elec wires all over Alabama.... I imagine if they're doing it there.... some Russian or wherever would have them all over the place.....
So... I'm wondering why is there a camera person out filming a person picking berries...?
I agree that the guy has some stones but something doesn't add up. It's almost like they knew the bear was going to charge...
Seemed like an informational video to me maybe? A trained bear, and a spokes person giving information on how to handle a charging bear? I don't speak whatever language that was so I'm just guessing.
I agree with Brotsky, to me it seemed kinda fishy more like a training exercise for a "tame movie star bear"
yeah, and to make it look real good, they put a cub up a tree at the beginning of the video.
Maybe Nose Jammer or Ozonics used and messed with the bear's olfactories?
I've been bluff charged and this one was different from what I experienced. Mine were straight at me charges where they'd put on the brakes 10 feet from me at a bait site. Wounded bear charges were different and had a different outcome. Either way I don't like it even a little bit. I won't entertain laughing about them today.
He's obviously talking to the bear in a language I don't understand. I think he's a "bear whisperer"
Could be wrong but I believe that is a European Brown Bear...not a North American Grizzly.
They have a different temperament then a Grizzly but they are still big and very fast. Just like aggressive people you get aggressive bears...does not matter what Country!
Not sure what language the guy is speaking but from what I could hear it is not English....of course my wife swears I am going deaf!
That's in Sweden. The narrator and the guy are both speaking Swedish. He's saying "nay du" which means "No you". Unbelievably calm...
No doubt in my mind that video is legit. The guy is holding a camera not a rock. And yes now I do seen the cub in the beginning of the video. Pretty sure she was just warning him off and wanted him to leave. I'm no bear expert by any means but looks pretty cut and dry to me. Grizz, brown or black, I would need a new set of underwear!
Rats... I thought it was Russia..... no way Sweden has any hidden electrical wires......
A Damsel in distress would have got more views....looks fishy
If this is in fact legit, there is no doubt that there is at least one person out of the view of the camera with a gun. otherwise, I would bet the camera man gets out of Dodge while he can.
ears were back on the 2nd charge. just not 1st and 3rd (IMHO)
If he has someone backing him up, he needs to fired. He got too close to do anything about it if the bear kept coming....
I honestly can't tell if this is real or not...seems like they are used to humans...but honestly don't know.
He put his ears back, but they weren't pinned back.
I knew it was fake before I even saw the bear. Man picking berrys to start to start the video plus narration = fake every time.
I don't know about the faked claims but it seems like logical Bear behavior to me.
The bear stopped cause he smelled something bad coming from his pants and remembered humans taste bad when they smell like that...

Check out this video at the 1:10 mark. To me there is a distinct difference in the attitude, appearance and body language of the two bears.
I been charged that to me looks like a well trained grizz for movies !!!
