I'm planning a hunt to happen in the next couple of years no one in my group are trophey hunters we just love being out there. I was thinking Wyoming type 6 since its cheaper but I know access can be tricky. Also wanted to add a doe mule deer or antelope lincinse to the mix so we would have a shot at a mixed bag. Thoughts on units or even other states. I've antelope hunted in wy. And went on my brothers elk hunt in Kentucky.

For cows I would buy an over the counter spike/cow tag for a Utah limited entry unit. I think tag is 390$.

In Utah you could also get a general archery deer tag for the same area you would hunt elk. That would limit were you would hunt because the archery cow/spike tag is good in many units but the archery deer is good only in one. But if you are new it's probably better to stick to one unit and learn it.

"so we would have a shot at a mixed bag"

Mixed bag ain't such a bad guy. But if I don't see any moose in September I might be thinking the same thing. lmao
