I'm surprised that there was not any conversation on the documentary "The Good Hunt"
Does anyone know where this film can be purchased? It is mentioned here:

OK...I've answered my own question to an extent...from David's site. Sounds as though he may have been ill.

"As you may know this last year kicked the wind out of me and I'm still marching steep uphill, so kind words are much appreciated. Christopher Daley should be posting an update on the film here soon. Basically it is finished and will be available to donors for private previews soon. It has a new title, "On the Wild Edge: Hunting for a Natural Life." Details to come and once again, thanks for everyone here for you support and patience. Dave P."
Some people cant get past his elitist attitude but in my opinion he is a great writer. I own several of his works and revisit them often.
SJJ- David's wife passed away last year and as you can imagine, he was devastated. I am pretty sure that is what he was referencing. Mike
You hit the nail on the head Andrew! Great writer and I'm sorry to hear about his wife but his elitist views and constant wheel bashing are why I quit subscribing to TBM and why I frequent bowsite verses trad sites. Les
His writings are a great read I want to see the film as well. I also understand Les it is a bit overwhelming at times , but I have compound shooting friends that bash trad guys as well. I still watch and read writings from outdoor personalities' as well that off camera are less than considerate to trad archers. I am a bowhunter and believe we need to be one voice against the antis as I am sure you are so I take the opportunity to speak with both sides about tolerance and acceptance of each others views.
Good Hunting!! Rob
Lol.... Dave Peterson. I lived close to him for several years, and hunted the same areas as he did. He preaches all this stuff about BHA but yet he would drive his lil Toyota pickup all over behind locked gates. I, personally, don't think too highly of Dave Peterson and his elk hunting ways...
Interesting....well from my little corner of the frozen North Country he seemed to be living a sort of life I wish I could. I find some of his writings a little hard to stay with sometimes, they seem dense but I enjoy what I perceive he stands for. It appears that he cares about wild places and does give back...thanks for the info Michael.
Some of Dave's rants get a little old and include some hypocrisy (It's ok for me to live in the woods but I don't want anyone else living here) but I think his intentions are good. In an exchange of emails he was very personable and less extreme. I've enjoyed his books even when I didn't agree with everything he writes.
I feel for anyone who endures the pain of losing a spouse. I was almost inconsolable when I lost my 14 year old coon hound.
I also agree with some of his rants but I find his writings outstanding...
I actually hunted with him once. He was hired as a guide on an elk hunt that I was on. He was a good hard working guide. He's forgotten more about elk hunting than I will ever know.
I must at the same time say I have not enjoyed his writing and although I read TBM every time it comes out, I usually skip his articles.

I think I own all of his books and I enjoy them thoroughly (even though they sometimes seem to be a bit redundant). I don't agree with 100% of what anyone says or writes, but I truly appreciate Peterson ' s writing style. I also really enjoy reading his responses to interview questions. Losing a loved one is super tough. I send my sincere condolences.
X what arctichill said, I to send my sincere condolences, always the best to you David. PETER
I think he sends a good message and I agree with many of his views. I just got another of his books last week.
I really enjoy his writing, just says how it is, raw center lacking the liberal sugar coating common with most writers.
Campfire Philosopher isnt the same without him.
I also have several of Daves books and enjoy reading them. He says what he feels and believes in. nothing wrong with that. I'm really sorry to hear about his wife passing.
