Just about Scoot. Divide 1104 by your point total from last year to determine true odds for a Non-res Elkhorns tag. At 1 point last year you had a 1:552 chance to draw. (1104/2) (the 2 comes from 1x1+1) You never know though, one of the 8 NR tags last year did go to a 1 point holder!

The Montana website states Mid-April. We're just about there. I have a bonus point for Unit 410. Hope it pays off.
I have found it is easier to keep checking Bowsite until this thread blows up than it is to go to the state web site:)

I see they must be starting says I drew a tag but permit is still pending.
Says successful for the combo license, still pending for draw permit... Joe M was it also showing pending for combo license yesterday?

Same here. Successful general and pending on the permit.
My general big game combo was showing successful... now it went to NOT SUCCESSFUL. What the heck is going on. Hope that doesn't mean I didn't draw my Elk Permit. Anybody else's changed?
My combo is showing successful, permits still pending. I didn't choose the elk refund option if I didn't draw the LE permit.
I chose the refund option... I think I am F'd. Oh well...
Hoping Permits will come after NR combo's are finished. My work ethic is going to be horrible today!

I'm showing not successful on the General Big Game Combo, but Elk Permit for Unit 410 is still pending. Hoping for the best, but preparing myself for a letdown.
I chose refund as well and mine is still showing I drew the Elk combo and Pending for Permit. It is 11:15am now.
I just talked to my outfitter. He said that there will be Combo licenses left over after this draw and a second drawing will be held in May. As long as the Permit section on the website says "Pending", you still have a chance at getting your tag and combo license. The draw will be finished at the end of the week or early next week at the latest.
My points have gone from 2 to 3. Still shows that the permit is pending. 1230

I drew the 410 tag. But it isn't that hard being a resident with points. I use to always put in for the archery breaks tag, then with other conflicts I switched to putting in for the rifle tag instead. So I just used 4 points to draw the archery tag.
Mine says successful for combo and 410 now.

If I draw an Elk Combo tag it is only good for the non-draw units correct? I was told that was the case then I got an email as I was asking a different question and was told the tag was good for the whole state.
Is the Elk Combo tag also good for both archery and rifle or if I buy the archery permit then that designates it archery only?

If you draw an Elk Combo, that gives you an upland bird license, fishing license and a 'general elk' license. Your general elk license allows you to hunt in any district that has a season open to general elk licenses. Basically, you can hunt state wide in any unit that does not require a draw. If you by a bow stamp, that gives you the right to hunt during the archery-only season. You can still hunt during the general season if you don't kill one during bow season.
Basically, with the general elk license included with your combo, you can buy a bow stamp and have 11 weeks of opportunity in most districts in the state. The only places you can't hunt would be districts that require a special permit. If the district has a season listed for "General Elk License" you can hunt there...
I got a point, but since its my first elk hunt I am just excited to be chasing them period!
Successful on 410 on the third try. This will be my first time elk hunting, really looking forward to a great experience.
Well I screwed up and did not notice they are drawing for permitted areas and combos all at once. Sister has a really, really, really good place that I was excited to hunt this year as I missed last year and apparently they changed the draw system. Oh well still have a tag and the time to go so it should be fun!
