I have had requests to do this thread again so here we go. I will do my best to update the thread as the summer goes along. Many of you will get a kick out of this as you will be able to see the antler growth as the weeks pass. As you can see by the photos, the bulls just started to regrow their antlers. Some are further ahead than others while a lot of the spikes still haven't dropped as of this weekend. I now have all of my cameras operational so the next round will show some different terrain on the ranch. Thanks.

OK Dan, you got me going now. Going to change the bow over from turkey mode to elk mode this week. Really looking forward to this hunt as I have not done it with bow in many years. Should be fun.

I was able to check a few cameras this weekend. It has been a VERY wet spring and that theme continued this weekend with lots of rain and snow. Things are looking great on the ranch due to the moisture.
Enjoy this installment of trail camera pics. Only got to a few cameras so the others will have to wait. Please disregard the time and date stamp on camera 1. I obviously have to reprogram that camera. All of these pics were taken during the last week.

A wet spring means a lot of lush grass which means good antler growth. Funny how some of the guys are packing quite a bit of antler already and others with quite a bit less. I will wait until summer when they are pretty much fully developed to let you know who is on my hit list:)

Chip, you're right. The fact that some bulls are further along now doesn't necessarily mean they will be bigger than the others. Depends on a lot of factors but its always interesting to see the progression.
Also, the bucks are just starting to grow right now. They are always behind the bulls.
I've also been getting quite a few bears on camera. I'll post them when I get a second.

Checked cameras this weekend and ran into 4 or 5 good bulls along the way. Bulls are in bachelor groups for the most part. Tons of grass because of the wet spring. Things are looking great.
Three of my cameras were knocked loose from the trees. The elk really like to bang them with their antlers and their noses. They can't seem to leave them alone this time of year.
Anyways, here are some photos from the cameras that were actually in position to take pictures!

Yes, it was a very wet spring so the vegetation is really lush. Comparing the cameras from a month ago really shows the growth.

I normally don't check trail cameras only a week apart but I was working up on the ranch all weekend so it worked out that way. I likely won't be checking them again for about 3-4 weeks.
Bulls were bugling here and there on Friday evening while we were working. Always nice to hear that in the middle of the summer.

The next camera shot will be of me sitting in the Jacuzzi with a Coors Lite in one hand and a stogie in the other. This will occur just about one hour after my hunt begins and me dropping a good bull. Just about 2 months to go and can't wait.

So apparently 2015 is my year for trail camera issues. Checked all of the cameras yesterday. One camera was knocked off the tree. Another had an SD card error and no pictures. Another stopped taking pictures after two days? Uggghhhh!
So, these are pics from the cameras that were actually working! As you can see, the grass is crazy with the wet spring and summer. Things are looking great!

Lots of great elk on camera! The really hard thing is getting one in bow range but Dan and his guys will make it happen! After that it's up to us:)

Lots of bulls but i don't see a PY class or a mature bull in the group of photos. Maybe the bull from aug 9 would make minimum. Should be lots of action.
