Looking for some help from the brotherhood of bow hunters I will be Elk hunting the middle part of September 2015 in Colorado..My problem is I will be flying there and hunting alone. Looking for some help getting meat home to Michigan if I am successful.

When I hunted Newfoundland for moose on Sept. 1. Shot moose, had it frozen at butcher. Put it in Rubbermaid tubs (uninsulated), and brought it back on the plane. It stayed froze solid, even though it was in tub for over 24 hours. My brother drove 12 hours home with tub in back of pickup under a sleeping bag after we landed in Denver. Hismeat was out of freezer for over 36 hours. We used tubs as they are lighter and cheaper than multiple coolers. As you know, you pay by the pound for luggage.

Otherwise - just buy coolers and pack it in ice. Remember store bought hamburger is $4/lb. You likely only pay $100/extra 50# luggage on plane.
