Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm in the market for a new boot.
Problem is I have a very long, narrow foot, and am very prone to heel blisters. Just curious.
Get the narrow version and you should be good to go. Great boot
Where's the best place to order them?
Shoebuy.com They will pay shipping both ways if they fit right and need to try a different size. Usually have a 20% discount for 1st time buyers.
Just bought a pair of Lowas at onlineshoes.com. Unlike Amazon and Zappos, there was no sales tax, and also they gave a 20% off with the promo code that is listed on their ordering page. Ordered on Sunday, received on Tuesday.
The Lathrop and Son Cevedale is a little different than the regular Lowa Cevedale. Made with the hunter in mind rather than the granola muncher. I don't believe the Lathrop version comes in different widths, with that said the heel of the boot is fairly narrow and the forefoot is not wide by any means. I have a wide fore foot with a narrow heel, and the Cevedale is just a hare too narrow for my forefoot for the mountains.
Give Lathrop's a call, they are great to visit with and will give you great advise. The Lowa Lathrop Cevedale is a great boot.
Me and Kota are foot bruthas from anotha mutha! I have the same foot shape. The L&S Cevedale is perhaps the best designed hunting boot I've ever put on my foot, but is was just too damn narrow in the forefoot. If you have narrow feet you will probably love them. Lowa boots have the best lacing system in the biz.
I'm sitting in the SeaTac airport now. AK bound. I have Lowa Tibet wides on my feet now. Even at that, the left foot is still a touch too narrow in the forefoot, and the heels are a little sloppy, but after 47 boot tries and fails over the last year they are the closest I've found to a decent fit. So I will Leukotape up my heels and hope the caribou cooperate!
The new Lowa Cevedale Pro is identical to Lathrops Cevedale Hunter boot except the color. I used a wide in Lowa Renegade but the Cevedale Pro fits wide on my foot in their std width. I found the fit identical to a std Lowa Tibet. The Pro sole is a tad stiffer but that's just from walking around the store in the Tibets. The toe box is perfect and a bit taller than any other boot I've had. The lacing system is absolutely fantastic.
Special ordered mine at REI, had them in 9 days. 12 months return for any reason, no matter the condition. I wouldn't buy a boot anywhere else.
I had the same experience as you guys this spring with Lathrop Cevedales. Seemed like a great boot but too narrow in the forefoot in 10.5. Lathrop suggested out-of-stock 11.5 for my feet with odd arches. I couldn't wait so I got 10.5 wide Lowa Tibets and put a size 12 Sole insert in them for my arches. I have been very pleased.
I always thought I had a narrow size 10 foot and, even though I had high arches, never did anything special for them like an insert. I wish I had really looked into boot fit before. Seems there is more to it than stuffing your foot in the boot in a store just see how they feel.
and when you do find a boot that works, buy an extra pair or two.
sdhntr- Have you tried the Lowa Bighorn? They fit me like they were made for me. Wide forefoot, narrow heel. Much wider up front than the Tibets. The wide tibet doesn't work for me as the heel gets too loose. The regular tibet is too narrow in the forefoot. The regular Tibet might work for me if they made them in a 12.5.
Sh!t, Kota, you just added something to my personal Christmas lost!
Dry feet for the first time in 25 years.
And if you are a Colts fan, you have boots for the big game! ??
So they pretty comfy? Hold up good?
I love my tibets. But these boots look cool!
Darn comfy. The forefoot lacing is isolated from the upper. You can then tighten the first upper eyes to lock down the heel then if you knot it there you can leave the remaining upper eyes as loose as you want to give that upper a bunch of flex. The stiff sole is pretty nice too. Not quite a ski boot but close on the sole portion but the upper flexes as well as a soft boot. Being about 90% leather and Goretex they don't breath for snit but with a thin liner and med wool sock, moisture on the skin wasn't bad at all. No worse than my old quest 4d's. I did see where Corley of bow junky had some problems with leaking and his toe box collapsed. Not sure how that would happen but he wasn't a happy camper. Mine haven't leaked yet and that's a miracle for my boots. I'll water test them after next weeks Wyoming hunts and will report back.
Sounds good. If I ever drew a goat tag. Im gonna get some stiffer boots. Looking at these because I like lowa boots and they seem to fit me.
Wapitibob,
How much stiffer are these than the Renegades? So if I'm understanding you correctly, the Cevedales are slightly stiffer than the Tibets?
My Crispis are toast and I'm in the market for new boots. I'll wear these through bird season then it's trash can time. Surprised they didn't hold up a little better, very comfortable boots.

And if you don't want to match WapitiBob's eyes, or you are not a Colts fan, here's a link to the Lathrop and Son's Cevedale. ;)
There is little comparison between the renegades and the Cevedale. A completely different animal. I didn't buy the Tibets, just tried them on at a local store but the Cevedale felt a touch stiffer in the sole. Kota, Aron, or one of the other boot savvy guys can address that aspect better than I can. Fit was identical. These are my first stiff sole boots, purchased after walking a cpl miles on a scab rock flat for an antelope hunt. The Quest 4D's I was wearing wrapped around every rock I touched.
JLS...I would consider the Renegades to be a "light to moderate" mountain hiking boot on steroids with the Cevedale being a bit more of an moderately extreme mountain boot. (Not as extreme as a "plastic" or KUIU Zamberlan) I wouldn't say the Cevedales are stiffer than the Tibets, just different. I think the sole on the Cevedales is actually a bit narrower than the Tibets as evidenced by the narrower upper.
What I'm trying to say, is that the Cevedales are nothing like the Renegades. A different class, style all together.
I wish the Cevedales fit me better, they'd be my "go to" mountain boot. They are currently relegated to extreme yard work boots for me. ;)
