Glad that the meat did not go to waste....but I sure hope that they marinate it.....the meat probably has quite a bit of adrenaline in it, which can impart a gamey taste.....nonetheless, if you are hungry, it'll still be appreciated.

Glad they got the meat before it spoiled although I have a hard time believing there was 500+ lbs of meat per animal!

Probably 1097 pounds of both elk hanging, skin and head on. We've had this happen twice that I am aware of in my are in my lifetime.

I'm not seeing the sad part. The meat was utilized.
Male animals kill one another daily during the breeding seasons. It is life. It is what they do. humans do it too over females. That's sad. God Bless

A few months back we had a bunch of buffalo escape and swim acrossed the Hudson River. The owner had to bring in some hired gunman to kill them. The meat was than donated. Google buffalo on the loose in the town of Bethlehem NY. Shawn
