One of the bulls thats pushing half a ton MikeC... and I get a late season this year
Not very impressed as the FENCE is quite obvious:) Very nice Rosies.
I doubt if that fence is containing elk!
Which is why I'm guessing he added a smiley face. Nice bulls. I'm envious I only have deer and turkey.
Its a cow fence they come and go as they please and are always knocking down the wires..we have a few deer but way more Elk and no turkeys yet, I dont know if they would do well on the west side of Washington
Tons of whitetails & turkeys in my back yard.
Interested in an even swap, Mr. C?!!!!
I have an Airport in my back yard. Not kidding, my grandparents owned it for years. Now it is owned by a bunch of people. Small planes, nothing bigger than 10 passenger. I would rather have the Elk, although I have killed a lot of deer down at the airport. Gonna sit it tonight as a matter of fact. Shawn
Young buck beded by our deck 2 days ago.
Mr C - Curious, are those Roosevelt or Rocky Mountain subspecies?
I shot this photo of a tremendous CA Blacktail from my master bathroom a few years ago when I lived on the SF peninsula. We had an inside fence and occasionally in the summer, deer would bed ten yards above where the buck is standing.
In February,2010, the year after I moved to Reno, I flipped on the backyard light and opened the back door before daybreak one morning to let my dog out. There, not 15 yards away, was a mountain lion staring back at me! But he took off a few seconds later so I did not get a photo.
Had a bald eagle land in a tree next to the lake but didn't get a pic....:)

that first pictured bull is a 7x6 kind of a goofy rack but heavey beams with a tall 3 point crown on the right side theres a 6x6 thats hanging around to Knick named Toad ..I hope I can share pictures of him in november with my hands on him, he`s an absolute gaint ...I was chasing moose in Alaska during the opening two weeks of Elk,,but we get a late season this year in the GMU and Im holding out for Toad
MikeC....Never condemn a man until you`ve walked a mile in his shoe`s!....cause then your a mile away and you have his shoe`s
NICE! Good luck and post TOAD!
I found a scrape in my back yard one year. I put up a camera to see what would show up.
Over the last three days, CO first combined rifle season, has seen four bucks and one really nice 5 X 2 (was a 5 X 6 during archery season but got broken in a fight) bull, shot in our "backyard" (National Forest abuts our property). We still have the rest of this season and two more combined seasons so more critters are sure to end up as table fare.
A white oak tree with deer crap under it ! And coyotes and hogs and the occasional coon or possum trying to eat my cat's food. Saw a doe and twins just yesterday morning when Sarge and I were taking our daylight pee. She was not impressed ! :)
photo taken from my living room
From my windows/decks I often see elk (as many as a couple of hundred, including some pretty good bulls), mule deer (again some pretty good bucks, especially in November), black bears, cougars, turkeys, coyotes, foxes, eagles (bald and golden), and two days ago we had hundreds of sandhill cranes going over the house, evidently being pushed south by the cold front approaching.
grasshopper's Link
This guy was out a while ago. They rut in this same spot so they should be back nosing does in a few weeks.

Had this bull, in the backyard last year. Notice the wound on his side. Game wardens came out, tranquilized, removed an arrow(not mine), cleaned him up, shot him full of antibiotics and saved his life. He laid around for a few days for sure. Some time later he was hit and killed by a car. Backyard or subdivision elk are a car accident waiting to happen.
We get deer, bear, turkey and the occasional coyote and fox. Only thing I have never seen in the yard is a bobcat.
The deer like to bed in our front yard.
A few years back we had a rather large bear walk thru the yard to that telephone pole out by the road. I watched as it bit and clawed at the pole about 4 ft up and then turned it's back and rubbed. Wish I had the camera at the time.
This is a bear that a friend of mine got doing the same thing about 5 miles up the road. Not the same bear, but doing the same thing.
Here is a small one that came up on our front deck back in April. The wife left a bag of garbage on the deck for me to take out to the garage- think it was after that. Last time she will do that! ;-)
This shot was taken thru the storm door window after I tapped on the glass and yelled at it to "get out of here!" ;-)
Had a big, black sow and cub in the backyard this morning when I got up. Not enough light for a good picture, but pretty neat to see anyway!
Starting to get closer to the rut, getting new bucks every morning and evening. Saw a giant this morning.
These darned things are in my backyard nearly every day in spring and summer. They scratch their neck on the deck railing. My wife has given up on trying to plant any sort of flowers. Maybe someday I can draw a tag with all these points and get some vindication!
I have had raccoon, gray fox and fishers on my deck before.
One of many of my pets in the yard.
lou never turn yr back on them moose i got chased in wy
Lou they need to give a landowners permit!
Last spring my son invited these two bears to play on his excavator.
A month ago this lion wanted to play with our chickens.
they love bird seed & yes, it's legal for me to bowhunt my yard.
Chickens. When they get out of the Chicken pen. God Bless
Coyote with a "fenced" raccoon. Too bad they didn't get to meet each other. I wonder who would have come out of it in better shape.
I call this guy Palmer. This is the second year he has shown up. Too bad I can't hunt in my backyard. Date/time stamp is wrong, it is from just a few days ago. I forgot to reset it when I plugged in the new battery pack.
Some dandy back yard bucks and bulls and a goat lol,,Not so fast MNRazorhead give him one more year ! he`s tail is a bit short (probably broke off fighting) and that`ll cost him a point or two,put your tag on him next season...hahahahaha
MikeC
Here is a front view of Palmer. He has a bit of character to his rack. The only way he will be tagged is by a car, unfortunately.
Wow, some pretty cool pictures and places you guys live in.
ACB where do you live? Is that an Ibex Cross or some kind of Feral goat, can you hunt them? Cool looking goat.
I live in Tennessee . it is a Persian ibex they belong to my dad and are right by my house.
Back porch
Elk/blacktail deer in the neighborhood but rarely in the yard..salmon/trout more often
Lou, I feel bad for you every time I see those moose by your house. Some day you will, ( hopefully) get your chance!
I'm surrounded by turkeys.
Actually at my front door, not back yard! I am about 7 feet from him!!
a friend near Colorado Springs
check out this button bucko - a real favorite!
An occasional raccoon but mostly these guys.
sorry for the crappy cell photo.. but there back and Toad`s with them..you can just see him in the back of the group,he makes the cows look small! and the bull on the left is a big fella as well.. I did see a nice 4x4 blacktail in the fields the other day ,just to dark for pictures
MrC... come on late season
