Looking at MVUMs. What exactly does "Non-National Forest System Lands within the National Forest" mean? Some forest service roads go through it and others seem to be cut off from it on the map.

Sometimes private parcels within the NF. Sometimes state land.

It's almost always state administered lands. Just because the road stops there, doesn't mean the road doesn't continue either. A lot of times there is just a gate and the road continues. As long as it isn't private, you can usually walk, bike or ride a horse down the roads. Which is one reason why our maps super good for scouting!

yep. If the gate isn't locked I go through them...I just make sure to shut them behind me.
