Yeah Pretty sure we drove through it a couple of times while Mr elite and Jesse kept sayin were good.
The hunt was really fun ended up with a small bull and some great memories and friends which is waaaay better than a few more inches of horns

Oryx are gorgeous animals esp w/ unbroken horns, most NA hunters have no clue what they are.
I know a guy who has killed a pile of them along w/ a big pile of elk (and everything else for that matter), one elk really close to 400". He has 3 oryx mounted right next to each other looking slightly different directions, looks like 3 jokers.

Might be right swampokie, in fact you are. TMK 51 is better than 50, talked w/ a few guys hunting 50 and they were talking about the elk they could see on the other side of the highway in 51.

40 draw three year tag drought continues for me despite low tier unit selections. Far cry from the old days when the odds for my NM hunt were 90% every year! Internet changed everything.
Will lower standards even further next year. How lowwwwww can you go?

nothing for elk or deer. 3 years now with no archery elk tag as a resident. 5 years with no archery tag for deer. 16 years with no rifle deer tag.
The only good news is I have archery Ibex in January again! I know of a lot more residents that drew a big fat goose egg on everything!

nothing in my household, was really hoping my daughter would have gotten something this year.
6 years now not drawing an elk tag.
Can't understand how some people are able to draw year, after year, after year. And good hunts too.
Maybe I should look at heading to OK to shoot some wild hogs...

My first year in NM. Got unit 34 cow elk no luck on bull. Got Barbara sheep and Oryx on McGregor. Never hunted Elk sheep other oryx. Been deer hunting most my life unfortunately no deer tag this year. Any advice or pointers for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't do too well in the draw, but whether he likes it or not, I'm pretty sure I'll be accompanying Mr. Adventurewriter on a few trips this year. I'm certainly no guide....more like a chaperone! I've got a few trophy Barbary Sheep spotted in some OTC areas. I would gladly agree to help Adventurewriter get on one of those rams as long as he agrees to keep his damned pillow out of my tent!

One little Piggy License??????...as you likely know by now I drew off range Oryx and if you don't bust up Bronco Buster too much on your big Alaska Mooose float trip we are backpacking into the wasteland thinking this might be the year for all us to head to Wyoming for Pronghorns too..

I think you're right, I'm waiting on the odds report but of the people I know we're at about 20% draw rate. Which is terrible compared to years past.
