New Mexico - 16E Military Help!!

Hey all!! New to the site and finally home from a deployment this hunting season. I drew 16E for elk and will be deployed until a month before my draw dates. I would like any help from anyone willing to mentor me on this area. I have never been there and looking for any tips. I don't need your honey hole or a slam dunk just a little push in the right direction. I appreciate your time and help!!

Get a good map. you have two options, Hunt Leuera Mtn. or Pelona Mtn. the hunting area in that unit is not that big. look for water and you will find elk. Leuera Mtn. was good last year but you need a quad or jeep to traverse that nasty road.
