What is a good diaphragm for me?

When I was younger I had my front teeth knocked out in a wrestling match and for years I had a "flipper" which is a retainer holding fake teeth in. I now had them fixed permanently but I feel like the roof of my mouth is a little raised from so many years of having to wear a retainer and I have a hard time using mouth calls? My question is what are a few mouth calls I can try for more or less cow calling when I cant use my hands?

Hessticles,
Congrats on getting your teeth permanently fixed! That is exciting!
If you're looking for a good all-around elk diaphragm that will be easy to cow call with and bugle with as well, I'd suggest the All-Star or the Misstress from Bugling Bull. Both have a lighter, single latex with a medium stretch and will produce any elk sound you want to make.
I, too, have a very high palate, and those are the diaphragm calls I use.

Hey Corey, I fell in love w/ the all-star. Other than the primos super dome triple reed the AS has been the only diaphragm to fit my pallet. Well fast forward I saw one at Sportsmans warehouse and decided a back up was a no brainer except the new one pretty much sucks. It doesn't fit my mouth the same, did they change anything or are these subtle changes in calls normal?
Also I've been eyeballing some items on your site, but haven't been in stock. Any idea when you'll stock up? I tried tried to get through during your live stream, great info and you presented it well.
Hard to mess up with the Mellow Yellow or the old green Scream N Tormentor. Have used both for years (bought a bunch at once). Not sure if you can even get the green one anymore and it may have a new name.
First of all I'd call it a "mouth reed".... when TSA pulls one out of your pack at the airport and asks you "what's this" you get funny looks when you call it a "mouth diaphragm". Then they pull another item with a questioning look.... "grunt tube" you tell em.... they pack you up reeeeeal quickly and send you on your way..... and then go change their gloves....
I too would recommend the Mistress as a reed that would most likely fit your situation best. It will take some persistent practice & dedication to get the feel for it. Don't give up too easy if at first you feel frustrated, give it a chance & there's a good chance you'll get the hang of it! It's well worth your time & effort!

The one you don't get prego with!! :):):)):):):)):
I've been looking at Elkreel calls? Diaphragm free!!!
Lol!! PM'd you Corey! Thanks for all the input!!
I have a high palate and it is difficult to use a normal diaphragm call.
I was at a deer camp in IL one time with the late Dick Kirby of Quaker Boy. I described the problem I was having.
Bless his heart, Dick called the factory and had them FedEx out a number of diaphragms. He stayed up one night trying out a number of them.
The solution (for me) was the bright yellow QB diaphragm that is designed specifically for kids! They have sort of 3 "lobes" and fit for a perfect seal in the roof of my mouth.
Dick sent me home with nearly a hundred of them! He was a class act. I've used them for elk and turkey for years now. Maybe that model would work for you as well, if they are still made?
