I've only been elk hunting once and it was in Colorado. I was there for the first week. 5 years later I'm finally going again, but going for the last week of archery season bc we want to hunt the rut. When I was there before we were hunting at pretty high elevation, 11-12000ft. Just wondering what to expect later in the season. Wil the elk still be up that high in late September or will they be moving lower? Or does it just depend on weather mainly? Also if anyone has a recommendation on calls that are easy to use that'd be great!

Their location won't be determined by elevation but rather by pressure.

Pressure and weather. If the snow comes deep at high elevation before end of season they will move down. Elk are where you find them. :)
