It's that time!!!!! I'm on my way to Idaho from the Bronx NY with my dad. We are driving through Ohio now. It's a 32 hour trip. I figured we'd have some quality father son time. He had other plans. Been sleepng since jersey. Hahaha
I plan on stopping at my farm in Iowa and getting my SD cards. I'll post some updates.
Lol. Safe journey to you guys! Enjoy every minute.
What part of Idaho? Good luck!
Safe travels and enjoy your hunt with your Dad.
Where at in Idaho you heading? Not exactly but what part of the state? I hunted the panhandle once before with my dad and cousins who live in Couerderlane (however you spell that city)
Goodluck Leo, enjoy every minute! Nothing like hunting with family! Mike
Cut him some slack, it's hard being a dad ! :) Good luck to you guys !
Thanks guys Kelly black and idacurt We are going on a horseback hunt with an outfitter. We are meeting him in auburn Wyoming and going from there. We have either sex tags and don't discriminate.
I hope he gets his first elk. So excited for the next 8 days.
Sounds like an epic memory maker!!!
Mark
Good luck! Looking forward to hear about an awesome experience.
Enjoy the journey - all part of the memories...

Go get em tiger. Enjoy! My dad and I run a company together. So although we get to work together every day, we have a hard time leaving and going hunting at the same time. It's both a blessing and a curse.
OMG! You are wearing UA! You traitor to the hunters!!!! Pour gas on him and light a match!
LOL.....like I care. Funny how people react to crap in the news.
Have fun, be safe, and deflate a few!!!!!
Good luck! We're waiting for the story and pics.
Good luck gentlemen! Have a safe and successful hunt! Please take a bunch of pictures and share them with us upon your return! Travel safe!
Have a wonderful trip with your dad.
Be safe, have a good hunt and a great time.
Have a great time! Dad looks comfy!
Awesome enjoy and good luck!!
Thanks for the well wishes. I brought along the camera hopefully I get some good pics and footage. Almost through Ohio.
Have a great time and enjoy time spent with your father. Make lots of memories, take lots of photos, and share it all when you get back.
32 hours drive? yikes. sounds brutal. why not fly and save 3-4 days?
best of luck to you! Enjoy the Ride!!!!!
Where's the fun in flying? Just taking our time enjoying this beautiful country and making memories. Plus I'm stopping at my land in Iowa to check cameras for my fall bow hunt.
In Illinois now and look who finally decided to help out with driving. If he knew I was putting this on the Internet I'd be in worse trouble than that time I was 17 and took his truck without permission and decided to see how the roll cage worked.!!!!!!!!
Have fun and be safe! Hope you have some booners on cam in IA!
ID is awesome, I am in CDA and am looking forward to my season opening on the 6th.
I used to haul loads of Produce from California and meat from Kansas into Hunts Point in the Bronx and didn't think guys in NYC hunted much until I met a guy working in HP market that was eat up with hunting worse then me. He lived in the Bronx and went elk and deer hunting every year in Kansas and New Mexico.... Best of luck to you and your dad !!
Good luck and safe travels to both of you Leo!
Where in Iowa is your farm, if you don't mind sharing?
Good luck and make some memories!
have a good trip i leave for mine on wednesday.. good choice driving instead of flying in my opinion. flying introduces a lot of other issues...
Leo is the president , Vice President , chief cook and bottle washer for the Bronx Bowhunter Society. And he is a landscaper! Didn't know either existed in the Bronx. He is good company too. Greatest childhood memories I have are bird hunting with my father and his brothers. Go get em Leo!
Albert
Travel safe and enjoy!
Good luck, Robb
When I worked in NYC I met more hunters there than anywhere else.
They are rabid and many forget that good hunts and traveling the world cost money. NYC offers the money part of the equation.
Plus Westchester and Long Island have phenominal deer hunting if you can get access.
Drive safe!
My place is outside of Albia. I checked the cams. Got a couple nice ones for this fall. I'll post better pics when I get back. Hey Albertt. How's it going buddy? It's been a while. I hope your doing well. Albert (GlidingIndian) is my favorite alabamanian or Alabamite.
We are in Wyoming now. I will be at camp tomorrow.
I'll post a crappy cell pick of the drop tine buck on my place that I hope to tag this fall.
It is "Alabamian". However , since so many of us have very few natural teeth (especially the Auburn fans) that is hard to say so Alabamite works fine for them. Please send pics of the Bronx Bomber and his DAds big adventure!
Leo- we are all waiting for you to check in on your hunt with your dad
The buck is a freakin stud!
Hey Guys. We are plowing through our drive back. My dad had some close encounters and a miss on this bull. We had a great trip. Into elk every day. I will post the full story and day by day tomorrow but here are some pics
I ended up taking a big cow.
Hate it your dad missed but what memories! Freezer full of great meat as a bonus.
I think you were hunting one of the units I used to hunt when I lived in Idaho. Fond memories of that area. It did get a ton of pressure from non-residents when I was there because it was a little out of the way for most residents.
Congrats Leo! Great adventure and meat too! Whats not to like! Thanks for sharing. Mike
If there's anything prettier than elk meat on the game pole I've yet to see it! Well done, and congratulations.
Anyone else have a City Slickers flashback from that horse picture?
Sounds like you guys had a nice hunt. I hope that your dad had a good time.
