The hunt is $3000. If anyone is interested give me a call Mark...732 673 3038
I sent a $2500 deposit I would donate $250 towards your Lic. fee if that's what it takes to recoup some of my deposit.
I booked again with Richard for the rut hunt When I got to the ranch Rich told me deer numbers were way down and " good bucks " were few and far between and if I was gonna be overly selective even a 105/110" buck would be a tall order.
On the third day I got an crack at the biggest buck we had seen all week and one of the better bucks he seen all late season. A 35 yard shot and he went about 100 yards and crashed.... He grossed right around 100" and nets 98 and change.
I'm very tickled considering I almost didn't make the trip for the second time.

I've heard great things about Richard's place...Columbian will be my next target...Sitka next year!
Congrats! That a dandy, very unique buck. And taken during hard hunting conditions. Well done.
haha

Brian.....Sitka hmmmm?
Congrats again
To clarify your comment about deer numbers being way down: deer *sightings* were way down this November, but deer numbers on the ranch are about where they have always been. Due to the big acorn crop keeping the deer under the oaks, and the lack grass growth in the open ground which pulls deer out of the trees where you can find them, and poor daytime movement due to the lack of precipitation and warm temperatures, sightings this November were way off from prior years. When blacktails stick to cover and/or go nocturnal, they are very difficult to hunt.
I have been hunting up there for 19 years now and this was by far the toughest late season hunt I have experienced. Congrats again and great job on getting it done under very trying conditions.
