I do a lot of velvet antlered animals per year. I wanted to show a few pics of artificial velvet on a mulie I'm working on this week. The splits and rubs were all done off of field photos. If you choose to go artificial it helps to take good pics for reference.

I've never been a fan of artificial velvet and never seen any that IMO looked real.... Until now! That looks awesome and very realistic. Great job!

That's fake velvet? Wow! All the artificial jobs I've seen look just that, artificial. That looks perfectly real.

Thanks guys! I'll make sure I post pics of the finished mount. Should have it mounted sometime next week.
IMO many advantages to artificial velvet... definitely the way to go in most situations.

this. WoW! Outstanding!

Probably the best artificial velvet I've seen done. Hell of a job. Definitely looks better "after".

Just had to say that I stopped into Dennis's shop to drop off a mule deer, and this fake velvet is probably more impressive in person than in the photos. Truly impressive shop to stop and look around in, I cannot wait to see how my deer turns out (9 months or so from now).

Fantastic work here! Does look amazing, you have the process figured out for sure! Is it a costly job for a customer?

Looks fantastic, with a great job. I have seen artificial velvet look worse than crap. Most taxidermist have art skills, some don't. Thanks for sharing.
