I'm so proud of my younger brother Danny! He has overcome a substance abuse problem and continues the fight. He's been a rifle/muzzleloader hunter for most of his life and I finally convinced him to take up bowhunting. He bought a bow and started preparing last spring. He shoots almost daily and uses it as a replacement for his old habits.
Last night (halloween 2013) he was rewarded for his efforts and was able to take his first deer with a bow.
We set up a ground blind in a natural funnel and immediately had this deer walk into a 25 yard shooting lane. Danny executed a perfect double lung shot, the deer acted like nothing had happened to the point of Danny nocking another arrow. The deer took a few steps and fell over, a total of 6 yards from impact to toes up.
Danny shoots a Hoyt, FMJs and VPA 125 non-vented 3blade heads and is now a CONVERT.
