This will be a 2 person Colorado DIY mule deer archery hunt. We each have 1 preference point.
We are not really looking for a backpack hunt. We plan on camping near a road and hiking in and out each day. We were thinking 2-3 miles in each morning if need be.(more if people tell us we need to I guess).
We each planning on shooting any buck with 3 or 4 pts that gives us an opportunity. We aren't real picky. We are really hoping to get into quantity over quality. Obviously we do not object to shooting a giant, but we are really looking to get into some decent numbers more than anything. I'm certain we will mess up quite often, so good numbers is kind of important.
We will be hunting the first 7 days of the season.
The units that we are interested in and might be able to draw are: 22, 33, 411, 44, 444, 511, 521, 6, 62, 67, 70 and 71.
If anybody has any suggestions that they are willing to give, please comment or PM me. If you aren't wanting to give out secrets, I understand that too. It never hurts to ask. This will be our first western hunt (I'm sure you already figured that out, lol).
At the moment, we are leaning toward 71, so if anybody that has spent time in that area would like to throw me a bone, I'd appreciate it. Again, if not I totally understand.
Thanks for the assistance guys.
Good luck, Robb
I'm sure you can get a little more help once you draw a tag and can focus on a unit
