Thinking about taking a trip out to Oregon to chase blacktail this year or next.I just got back from a POW hunt for them and really enjoyed hunting them,and learned a lot.What type of terrain should I be looking for in Oregon on public ground?I'm thinking mainly clearcuts,but really know nothing about hunting them in Oregon.Any advise to start me in the right direction??Where will I find the most publicland opportunity in the southwest or northwest?I guess you can tell I'm at the very beginning stages of figuring out a hunt there Thanks

My first deer ever was a nice 3x3 blacktail shot outside of Ashland OR when I was 15 or 16. I still have his rack and pic.

I grew up in Roseburg OR killed my first blacktail when I was 12 still have the rack hanging in my garage

So whats the public ground like in those areas??Worth a 3000 mile flight??how do you guys hunt them out there;spot/stalk,sit the timber ect..?????
