Nice buck.
Bob, I'm curious as to how you'd compare Kodiak with PoW for August 2017? Where would you go if you were me and why?
Anyone else think that Bob looks like Michael Douglas?

I put a tape on him at the cabin and came up with a rough 105. I'm not particularly skilled at scoring though but I think I'm within 5 inches so yes I think he'll break the 100 inch mark.
Depends upon what your looking for regarding where to hunt. I just wrote something on this for the P&Y Ethic. It should be in the next one to come out. The issue is going to highlight the Sitka Blacktail Deer.

Congrats Bob! As this flatlander has not been there (yet), any more pics of deer and/or the terrain would be great.

This is what your looking for when your glassing. Of course this particular buck was lucky he was young and small, but man did I like his attitude.

This is what the terrain looks like. You should seek high alpine than looks something like this stuff. You'll have to deal with the fog probably on a daily basis.

Bob, do you have any similar pics from the terrain above the Kodiak shack? Looking forward to getting out there in October.

Ridge to the east of the cabin. Usually full of deer on either side. Climb to the top at the north end and hunt south.

Finger ridge to the east, off the last ridge shown, limited area but saddle is good place to wait for deer.

Off of the beach looking north from the cabin. Hike 3/4 to mile down the beach, then up the large valley to the low saddle. This photo was taken off to the north side of the saddle.

On last photo, either hike beach on low tide or stay above beach on deer trail, which will take longer.

I don't think Roy has had the chance to hunt much, if any, for himself this year. He's been guiding.
The photo above may be the last hunt he's done for himself. I know he'll be deer hunting on Kodiak this fall and probably doing some moose hunting too.
