We spotted this guy in a remote basin on our Sept bowhunt. Our stalk was blown at 90 yards. We counted 7 tines on each side. We're not very good at guessing width. Anyone care to venture a guess? I've got one other photo I can share.

I would say 30-32 he is wide. Look at this sucker though.

He is 36" all day. He will probably score 230 to 240". He's the kind of buck you go back and look for every year. Nice find!

He's a good one for sure!

A mule deer bucks ears are usually 22" to 24" tip to tip. With his ears folded back in both pics, I would be guessing but I'll say 30 to 32 inches. I will also say that he is a great buck no matter how wide he is. Good luck on him next year.

Buddy just killed one that was 34. This one is wider. 38 give or take

A 31" is looking at me from the wall right now. That buck is 6-8" wider. Tough to tell about score because of so many variables, but he's one where score matters not.

I would kill everyone else who knows about that buck and then start watching that basin next August.

It's hard to say...I could probably give a better number with a basin name and GPS coordinates! :-) Inside spread I'd say 35-38". I think outside spread is over 40"

Yeah, I'd like to get a look at him in person to give a more accurate answer...where is that exactly?

Here's your GPS coordinates gents: 50.4905° N, 4.1120° W

I appreciate all of the responses. Maybe we can find a pic with ears out.

I have got to be honest here. I purposely hit low of what I really thought with the first post that said 36 to 38 inches. There is a little store here with 10 bucks over 40 inches , Adell Store in S East Oregon. That buck is at least 40 inches. The desert buck is probably 48 inches. For unbelievers I have seen bucks that big in S Eastern Oregon. You seldom see one killed though. The Owyhees used to hold bucks like that that hardly ever got killed because by natural movement they were in Idaho during the Oregon season and in Oregon during the Idaho season. I would see huge bucks over there when coyote hunting after Oregon season was over.,

God bless , Steve

I think the right ear is out on this one- pretty grainy.

Judging by mine ( 28 ), he is 34/36 at least. Pretty grainy pic though.

Looks to be 9 or ten inches past the ear to me.

As others have said - 36" to 38". Some big old mule deer have wider ears and can fool you. Very nice buck!

What a monster. Every year, until you die, or he dies, you chase that buck.

I'm guessing 35".

Based on his location, I think Avalanche camo is in order.

Was the stalk blown when he heard your knees and teeth rattling?

They don't don't get big by being stupid. I won't guess his size, but looking at the pics I'll guess where he beds has swirly winds from behind him and a stadium seat commanding view in front of him...

Likely a couple forks, smaller 4x and other deer all around him too. They choose their fortresses well.
