DonVathome sorry about taking your tag, you'll draw it next year. The only down side is this is the same time I'm supposed to be in Wyoming chasing elk. I'll have to bump my elk hunt up earlier. My partner has a jetboat he is running up. This is the first for me on the Koyukuk. Have you hunted there before? It's time to start my research.

Koyukuk is a great moose tag.

I went 0 for 18 in the draws this year. A certain bowsiter I know may or may not have pulled Karluk Lake Fall Brown Bear on Kodiak though. Lucky bastage.

Looks like it is "just" a general season Dall hunt and Kodiak Goat for me this fall.

That lucky bowsiter killed a moose last year that ran a short way.... and died literally in his yard. That bastage!

Koyukuk... sigh. Good luck up there!!!

Koyukuk moose was one the most rewarding hunts I've ever experienced. If you haven't already read it, be sure to pick up a copy of "Shadows on the Koyukuk" by Sidney Huntintdon asap. It's an incredible true story of a fascinating man and that area in the early-mid 1900s. Congratulations to all who drew.

I drew an any moose tag in the Unit around Lisa Lake for this fall and Kodiak Bear tag for next spring at the Buck Shack. Roy had that tag for this spring. I was really looking forward to doing that hunt with him, looks like I'll be doing it next spring.

I thought I had the odds in my favor this year after researching draw % in units that I know well, but i only drew the circus permit DC 485. 13000 total tags(including tier 1) for that unit this year. Anyone get a copper river or delta bison?

From: Stekewood

That's awesome Bob. One has to think that it's not by coincidence that you drew that bear tag that Roy had. Congratulations and good luck! Can't wait to hear about the hunt.
