I killed a mainframe 8 a couple of seasons ago with 10 inch double droptines. Without the droptines he would net exactly 160 as a 4x4. He also had a couple of stickers which actually made him a 6x7. But still he had a massive 4x4 rack. Absolutely the best day of my like. Killed him with a Habu recurve and a wensel woodsman head.

153 from last year. Missed a 160 plus 8pt. on Nov. 19th. That string under the armguard trick, guess I just held too long and got a little out too much arm sticking out.

Not sure how I missed this thread ;-} I see you changed your handle Charlie! I'm with you. I love a big 8 point.
This one grossed in the low 160s. Heaviest body deer I've ever killed. 245# dressed.

T-Roy, are you sure those buck were mature? They don't look very big....for Clydesdales! Love the top buck. Has a neck like the trunk of a 100 year-old bur oak.

Writer........I didn't realize his rack was as nice as it was cause he had such a big body. I shot him on Halloween morning. Another 2-3 weeks and he wouldn't have been quite so big.

With 2 small kickers it makes your cut. Made a hell of a mount too. IMO it takes a heck of a 8pt deer (much 'larger' feeling than most) to net 150"

Shot early fall 2004, grossed 157 netted 148. Scouting all summer and videotaped him in velvet. I honestly didn't even know how to hunt back then. I thought "hunting the wind" was a joke that celebrity hunters just said to make themselves sound smart. I hunted regardless of the wind lol. Shot him at 7 yards in light rain. Gigantic bodied buck. I have video of him standing beside a 150" 5x5 and it looks like a buck standing beside a doe. So lucky I never blew him out of the area hunting the way I did. Saw him twice on stand before killing him.

My son and I have bow hunted from the time we each could carry a bow. He shot is first deer with a bow at age 11. It took me 40 years to kill a 150 class deer and the interesting thing about this is these were shot on the same hunt in Texas low fence and both were cull deer!!! (management bucks) Land owner had a rule any 8 point is a Cull! Man what a hunt!
