On the Montana Web Site it lists that special drawing-elk permits and non-resident combination license will be drawn Mid-April.I would assume that would mean the drawing would be this week.Would I be assuming correctly?
I have a feeling it will be out on Tuesday afternoon.

I saw on the FWP website that they would be out the week of the 22nd.
What I read said they would start drawing on the 16th.

Watch you bonus points they change before they post the results.

Anxious to see the results. I know i'll draw my elk as it is unlimited, just crossing my fingers for deer because its one of the lowest odds in the state.

They draw the NR combo licenses first, which isn't really a challenge since it's been undersubscribed and 100% success recently. The LE draws will follow later today.
It means they haven't finished updating all the draw results yet.
Pending means they have not drawn yet. If you draw it will clearly state what unit your are successful for under successful. Good luck!

Danny, did you just apply for a combo license or did you apply for a combo license and then a controlled area elk permit, ie 590-20, etc?

Your good then, what a lot of us are waiting on is the LE elk hunts and LE deer hunts
I didn't apply for LE this year but it sure was nice to look down and see successful beside Elk and Deer licenses.... should be a fun fall in a few short months!
I got my elk tag in feb. just waiting for my LE permit. Nr combos always come up before LE permits
It appears to be a two-day process again like last year.
I did draw the non-resident combo. I get to try my luck in Montana instead of Colorado this year. Good luck to all and have a great elk/deer season.
Still showing "pending" at 4:00am. Didn't really expect them to be working through the night, but had to check first thing anyways.
If you applied for a LE permit and took the 80% return option you will not be showing the general combo license.

Unless I am misunderstanding you... that isn't correct. I took the return option and I am showing the combo license right now as being successful under the licenses held.

I chose the refund if not successful in the LE draw. I will buy the Bow license after as I applied for an LE archery tag.
I didnt pay for the archery tag yet either. I will buy that afterwards. Otherwise, I only get 80% of that tag price back if I dont draw.
Bingo. I'm rolling with a General if the LE tag doesn't come through. Didn't realize that you'd opted for the refund.
We may have to get Bigdan to make some things happen if we don't get our results soon. I have patience as long as it doesn't take long!
And I doubt they are working tomorrow... we may have to wait until Monday.
Anyone have a contact with Mont. fish and wildlife internally that could give us some insight as to when? That way we don't have to check every 20 min lol.

They drew the LE on a Wednsday at around 11AM central... not that I remember! I wasn't too hungry for lunch after getting rejected! lol
For 1.5 days now, MFW said I drew NonRes Big Game Combo. Just went back in (for the 612th time today) to see if the LE moved off of "Pending" and NOW it says I was UNSUCCESSFUL!??!
wtf? I even have a screen shot of the "Successfull" posting and all the sub category awards - they're all gone/changed now.

LE bonus points are updated,no permit for me,10 pts. now.
No change to my elk points so far.
My elk combination went from successful to unsuccessful but elk permit is still on pending status. I elected the 80% refund so I'm guessing I didn't draw and that's why the combo is now listed as unsuccessful.

42 I will only have two days to hunt elk in the Breaks. I will be headed for az on the Monday after opening day.
"unsuccessful" here on the LE. Have a general so it should still be a great fall to be chasing bulls and bucks with a bow. Congrats to all who drew.

Oh yeah. I drew my LE tag against with no points. I can't wait to go back. I do have one question though... If by some chance I draw a New Mexico that can I still get the 80% refund of I turn my tag in and/or a point back? I'm stoked about going back but if I draw a NM long shot tag I will not have enough off time to do them both. Again, I know it is a long shot, but just asking. Any thoughts?

Yes, you can return your general tag for the 80% refund over the summer. Can't tell you the actual deadline, but I think it sometime in August? If you bought the LE bonus point...you keep it.

Two of the four guys in our group drew Breaks tags. I was one that didn't, but will be tagging along to chase deer and help pack out elk meat.....hopefully.
No Breaks tags for us also, third year in a row. Back to the crazys.
No LE for me. Anyone know where I can find the draw odds? I had my outfitter apply for me (410-21) but when I look at the spreadsheet from MFWP it does not show that code (new this year?) and it only shows 2 NR tags in 410-20, that doesn't seem right. I would like to see for myself what the likelihood of getting drawn is so I can plan for future years.

If you're talking about 2014 draw odds, MT doesn't move that quickly. Hopefully by next year. ;) But your link is the correct spot to check.
You're correct, 410-21 is a new code and the archery-only tag valid in both 410 and 417. 410-20 is valid for both archery and firearms seasons, so 2 NR tags makes sense since that's a tough draw for residents as well.
Thanks DJ, that makes more sense. Do you happen to know the code from 2013 for NR Archery in 410?
410-21 has 1900 tags so 190 Nrs had a chance at drawing.410-20 has 100 tags so 10 of them could go to NR. 410-20 is a gun tag that can be used in archery season. Then used in the gun season.
