D5 about a mile from my house. He probably wouldn't last another year. His front teeth were loose and you could pull them out with your fingers. I could hardly find his back teeth. Notice something lacking in this picture?

Not sure I'd eat that deer..

Thanks all. For a skinny deer he was heavy. Maybe that's just because of my age. Every year they are getting heavier.

Curious as to why you wouldn't eat that deer?
I was thinking that the meat on that buck, even though from an obviously old deer, should actually be quite edible, considering he did nothing but eat and sleep all his life. Testosterone and doe chasing we're never part of his program.
He may have played with the girls, but likely more so in a dress up role than an actual contributor to cervid society. But like an Adam's apple, or junk that broke out of the duct tape on a drag queen, the goofy antlers always revealed who he really was.......

If you get him mounted, I think he needs his mouth half open and some drool dripping out...

Cool deer!! Any plans of getting him aged? I am sure he got more wear on his teeth from the grit but man he looks old.

Sweet trophy! Just curious though, does it meet the DFG definition of a legal buck since there are no real forks? Do they allow any provision for cactus bucks?
From: DL
21-Aug-14
Yes it does. Anything on the top 1/3 of the antler you can hang a ring on is considered a legal point. I took it to F&W today. How many "legal" points do you want? I could probably count 12-15 on each side in the top 1/3. When I cape him I'll take some pictures if his teeth, if he has any. He was real skinny but still weighed 95 pounds at the butcher.
