For those of you at home or the office, I'm going to bring you alone this short live hunt. To those hunting, I wish you a safe and productive hunt.
I left my youngster Kristian at a more productive property in Wilton hoping he ca shoot his first deer. When we arrive there was a huge doe in the driveway. She walked to the left and Thad good because she kindoff has to go towards him to go to bedding area.
I'm at the back of a smaller property where deer cut through to get to their bedding. Didn't do any scouting cuz I had the stand here since last year. Land owner is been saying there are way more deer this year. I hear something walking in the dark as I type. Out!

Nothing materialized out of those steps. I can see my 3,6&9 but 12 is too dark. Crows and squirrels are up. I know they are here. I can feel it.

This set up is messed up. My friend put the bow holder on the wrong side of the tree. I'll have to fix it before I leave.

My hunt is over. Two fat does came 4-5 went 2 yards behind my tree. Waited until they were 8 yards to my to my nine and let it fly. Lead doe caught my movement as I drew and jumped behind the brush line. Trailing doe stopped and looked back but I was at full draw. I didn't get a pass through but the shot looked good. She mule kicked really high and took off. I saw her run a half circle and crashed out of sight at about 60-80 yards.
Well, live hunts do produce venison. If I can find her.

Son just got busted drawing on a fat doe. Two does came from his nine as expected and he didn't see doe number 3 on his six. He said he was trembling for the last hour hearing them walk in the dark. He told me got to go I hear something.

So this is what happened. After the shot I saw the doe running by a clearing about 60 yards to my 11 O' she then took a hard right ran another 20 and disappeared behind the trees and that's when I heard her crash.
Well, I was wrong. That was the lead doe. My doe ran about 20 yards took a right and went another 20. That's where she crashed. About 35 yards as the crow walked. I was walking a straight line towards the place I saw the lead doe and found it there waiting for me.
I forgot. The viper trick did get a pass through but hit the opposite side leg. The arrow didn't pass through.
