My gf's first hunt/deer/buck!!!

My gf has always enjoyed my hunting tales but when she told me about 2 months ago that she wanted to bow hunt, I jumped on getting her a bow and shared my knowledge with her. She took the PA hunter safety course, got her a bow and she has been shooting for just over a month. She is very good actually and I felt good about her hunting. She got a PA license and when she came to Ohio yesterday we bought her an Ohio license too. I knew that I could get her on some deer but wasn't sure if she'd be able to even draw on a deer without getting busted let alone shoot an nice 9 pt! I made sure she was safe and comfortable in the stand then I went and climbed in a nearby tree a few hundred yards away. She had a few turkey's come in to the bait, then she texted me she was cold and then DEER!!! It was the longest 15 minutes of waiting for me ever! I get a frantic call saying I shot a buck! I hit him exactly where I was supposed to! I need to get down! haha I told her well good, he's dead then! But sit tight. I'll be over in a little while. We need to give him some time and then we'll safely get down and look for blood. I actually spotted the dead buck on my way to her but didn't tell her. I showed her how to track blood and then we found her arrow still intact. She was super excited to find her arrow! I said ok, lets keep on the trail. And then we spotted him! She was pretty excited to say the least! We got some great pics, her dad is going to mount it for her, I butchered him up today and I'm headed back out here in a minute to try and shoot a doe! Oh, this was her first time hunting also! Like I said I was confident she would have some deer come in, but not sure if she could seal the deal. Boy did she surprise me! To say I'm proud is an understatement! I tried to tell her hunting isn't always this easy...lol you know how that goes!

Thanks guys for all the awesome comments! I'm a lucky guy! Literally! Had an awesome hunt this afternoon! Had a big coyote chase 2 does right under me. We all watched the yote cruise by well out of bow range. Once he was gone the deer settled down some and I took a 15 yard chip shot! More meat in the freezer! She doesn't have a sister sorry guys. I do plan on asking her to marry me!

Thanks for all of the accolades on my first hunt! Bow hunting (target shooting) has been fun and relaxing at the same time. I'm lucky to have a BF who has been a patient teacher and guide!
