Holy monsoon! Trudged 1/3 mile to rarely visited area in light rain, got to tree slipped on frogg togg rain gear just as it started pouring, climbed tree in Summit Bushmaster and plugged in Gorilla treestand umbrella.
Here's the set-up. I'm facing NNE wind is out of NNW - as is the rain. Can't believe how much cover is lost - feel a little naked up here. I'm committed til noontime then family stuff - no evening sit for this guy. Not expecting much action so plz keep me company throughout your morning. Oh yea I dragged tarcel gland from buck I killed Oct 13th. See what happens.
Deer trails are a bit of a WAG but you get the idea.

The monsoon has lessened to a steady rain. I rattled a few times while grunting on tube to no avail. Rain is louder than I am.
Treestand umbrella and rain gear are working excellent. I could use a large black coffee however.
I have doe & buck tag with two on ice. I get to be fickle.

The rain just magically stopped and the dark gray skies have turned pasty white. Still raining from the leaves but it's looking up. A balmy damp 46'f at 8 am.

I heard a crack behind me and I saw two flags bounding @100yds. I'm not so sure they winded me. I think more chasing is going on. I grunted a few tines. My gut says they are going to circle back.

Sat back down after standing and glassing the past 25min. Rain has completely stopped now for the past half hour it seems. Wind can't make up it's mind but there's nothing I can do about it. I sprayed a few blasts of doe pee buck bomb as a windacater. I'm hopeful for a browsing buck to come sniffing around bedding area.

That came and went here too. Now it's back to gray skies and light NNW wind with occasional swirling gusts. This afternoon will see a lot of deer hit the ground. It's shaping up to be ideal conditions.

Promising start with a late fade. I'm wrapping it up and going to speed scout on the walk back out. Thanks for following along and everyone's support. For those heading out shortly for afternoon hunt, best of luck and be safe out there. These trees are very moist & slick if your using a climber.

Just put my second doe of the season down!! 4 does came in about 20 minutes ago center punched the lead doe she went 20 yds and piled up. Despite the wind they're movin!!
