Hunting a friends property this beautiful afternoon. To the left is a heavily used rub line, to my front is a mowed wild field, right is a food plot and white oaks to my rear. With the temps dropping I'm hoping for some early action.

Well, no Kansas buck here! Had a spike under my tree for 5 minutes then he got suspicious and walked off. 2 big does showed up next with 10 minutes of shooting light left but never came out in the clear. Had to get the kids from the sitter so I was forced to come down with the does still there. When I was down they were paying attention to me but not overly concerned. So I blew at them and stomped, so they blew at me and stomped. Then I coughed and stomped and the bigger doe started towards me. I moved towards her and the two of them blew out of there. Fun encounter but I probably have to let that spot calm down before going back for a doe for the freezer. There is a nice 8 back there too.
