In the horn and the back bone sounds like someone popped a rutty aggressive head butting ram to me. Just didn't want the hassle of reporting it. Be interesting to know if it was a handgun.

Why would someone call that a poached ram? The horns were left intact and it was shot in November. I agree with Rayzor that suggests self defense from a rutting animal. Still sad to see. Mike

You would be plain ignorant to carry a ram out during hunting season without a tag, but to go back in May and find a sheep head? How do you even begin to guess that it wasn't poached.
