Hey great idea driving a Volvo on a hunting trip. It's like stealth camo because those pigs will never think a hunter is in one of those things!

lmao... writer, the great idea is getting 28 mpg so you can afford to do the 3,000 mile roundtrip...lol

Hey, I drove down in a white CRV last time, so....

29-Jan-15
I'm not able to upload pics with lack of a strong signal from stand 7. Ed is at stand 6.

There are hogs everywhere...

29-Jan-15
So many hogs....and no shots

I know the feeder is going to go off..

But it scares the crap out of me every time.

How many in your group Kevin? 3 weeks from tomorrow and we will be there for some therapy. And yes the feeder startles me just about every time.

I think that AT&T is the only carrier down there worth anything except for US Cellular. That is unless you sit in the right chair at the fire pit and there is no signal sucker next to you.

The guys are heading to the processor with a couple of very nice hogs right now, so I thought I'd take the liberty of posting a couple of pictures of Ed and Bob's hogs.

Here's Ed with a nice hog he shot from stand 6 tonight.

Bob didn't even make it all the way to his stand tonight when he shot this big boar on the way out. He didn't realize how big it was when he shot it.

I'll let you guys tell the story, but here's a picture of Bob's boar. Congratulations and good shooting guys!

Just finished lunch and some 3D shooting.

Its a beautiful day to go kill some pigs.

30-Jan-15
The good, the bad and the ugly..

Pictures of Ken's giant one eared red hog from stand 1 will be up shortly. Its a beast.

Ed killed a nice meat hog from 6.

And the ugly.. Both Bob and I put arrows into the shoulder of hog. Sucks so much.

Mine was a big hamp colored . no blood or penetration. Worst feeling ever.

Great hunt guys, keep up the good work! Get one one there Kevin!

31-Jan-15
So far this am I've had two does, a doe fawn and a buck fawn eat all of my corn.

No hogs yet, but at least I have the corn stealing deer to keep me company.

31-Jan-15
Starting to rain..

Heading out to stand 2 in a little bit to kill that big hamp.

Hog down! Pictures and story to follow.

I gotta start dragging..

31-Jan-15
It was steadily raining by 530 when a wooly hog presented a broadside shot from the blind at stand 2.

Hogs had been there for a while, but this wooly brindle hog arrived on scene and began pushing all of the other hogs around.

It was easy to follow him amongst the other hog as his wooly tail was considerably thicker than the other hogs.

It is amazing how good I can shoot when I slow myself Down, concentrate, and pick a spot.

I drew my bow and had to let down several times because I didn't want to push the shot as the hog moved around the stand site.

He would be broadside for a second and then just as quickly quartering to me.

At the shot he ran to the east and I was used to hunting for antelope from a blind immediately popped my head out of the blind to see my hog running fifty yards and cartwheel ing to a stop.

I had redeemed myself with a great shot.

The boar weighed in at 120# bigger than I thought. There was no ground shrinkage. But not too big to be stknky.

I'm sure Cheryl will post a pic soon.

I can't thank them enough for a relaxing, frustrating (from my own bad shooting) and amazing hunt at Shiloh.

I can't wait until next year.

Congratulations again Kevin on a fine boar! I love the long, curly hair on this one. You'll have some good eating too.

It was a privilege for us to host you all's hunt again this year. Please be careful on your drive back to the great white north and make sure to let us know that you got home okay. Enjoy that fine pork you'll be dining on for a while!

And I love that red spot right by the elbow, too.

Nice shot. Glad you ended on a great note, with the perfect hit and hanging tough in the rain.

Good job, guys! See you next year.
