Even more sad was speculation of cause. A hired man, moved 30 domestic sheep to his bosses farm in the middle of sheep country causing the outbreak. Sad indeed...

This is beyond sad. We watched the same thing decimate our herd in South Dakota not long ago. It's a long road back from this. Sucks.

Do the remaining sheep that survive build an immunity to the disease & pass it on the their offspring? Is there some kind of vaccine available to treat infected animals or the new ones being transplanted as well?
