DIY Turkey North West Nebraska

Looking at taking my dad on his first Merriams turkey out near Chadron NE. Just seeing if anyone has some info or tips on hunting out there. I have hunted a lot in Black hills of SD and WY just wanting to try some new area. I understand if no one wants to give up any spots but any info or some tips on where to start out would be great..
