I think this is a pretty good video but I don't agree with his shot placement 100% but I think overall it is pretty good. I shoot for the hips regardless of angle as I think it is much easier to gauge where to aim vs trying to envision vitals.

Good video Bowfreak ! I have never used the bullhead types, but the Rocket Hammerhead or the Grim Reaper works every time for me exactly where he shoots.

I saw this few weeks ago. The bone structure is pretty accurate but I don't agree with a few of the shot placement spots. Too far forward on a lot of them especially the quartering away shots. the head on shot I put it at the top of the V. Bottom of the V is too low and will result in breast meat. The vitals also sit farther back than they seem on a broadside bird. Especially compared to what they show you in this video. I will say it's a lot better than some other pics/vids I have seen. It's no wonder people always question where to shoot them and are frustrated when they say "I hitm right where they say your suppose to" lotta misleading info on the Internet.

Personally, I am a headshot only guy. He's either dead right there, or walks away unscathed. Been in the blind too many times and watched guys make "perfect" shots on birds, never to be found. I know of some guys who can pinwheel birds all day with body shots, and that's great. I think the vast maojority take shots assuming center mass in the body will result in a dead bird. It just isn't the case.
To each their own I guess.

Joe, I want to thank you for posting your advice above. I was reading this thread last night and was pondering your thoughts on the frontal shot. I always thought top of the beard. Well as luck would have it I got offered that exact shot this morning on a bird. As I settled my pin I remembered your advice and aimed a couple inches higher. The arrow was true and the tom was DOA. A quick, clean kill. Great advice!

Joe's comments are spot on. Good video in general, but it generally shows the vitals further forward than they are. I shot a bird last weekend broadside, severed both leg bones right below their insertions at the pelvis (or whatever structure it is that birds have), and my arrow went through the rib cage and vitals. The video would have you believe the vitals are 4" or more forward of where they actually are.
