It's been kind of boring in here lately, and I'm sure we've seen a lot of the pics already, but what the heck. Let's see some elk camp, elk country, elk harvest photos!
One of many CO 2012 camps.
Moving from one camp to another location in 2012.
Moving again, not quite as nice that day :)

Colorado Solo DIY 2014...Camp, Country, and Harvest!
Best of Luck, Jeff (Bowsite Sponsor)
Somebody good with a camera could have had a field day for a few minutes here.
Tortilla man usually makes an appearance towards the end of our hunts, funny the things that seem funny after 2-3 weeks in the backcountry! We did have a thief in this camp however, we blamed it on a wild crafty rabbit, but now I'm wondering if Tortilla man wasn't behind it :)
Ok...Ok...it's not camp IN elk country...but in my imagination, I'm listening to bugling bulls
Jeff, is that a portable phone booth next to your tent?
Barty, is this the bull that's been bugling?
This big guy never fails to get my blood boiling!
Pretty cool picture, my buddy Mike heading out of our 2011 camp.
Barty, that made me LOL.....
Rob, wow what a bull!! I never drew that tag we were talking about this winter, maybe next year!
Hell yeah Wyo...that's him!! Or perhaps it was his even bigger brother ;-)
"Rob, wow what a bull!! I never drew that tag we were talking about this winter, maybe next year!"
Next year's the year! Believe me, I thank God every day that I'm a resident so I can chase elk in God's Country every year!
Killed my first bull in that mess, the following day.
I think 75% of this area was either burned or rock.
Idaho '09, it was hot and dry. 80's-90's every day, and only one sprinkle in 17 days.
A friend let me hunt from his Yurt on the edge of the Flattops wilderness. I was hunting Shiras Moose but all I saw in the area was elk and bear.
Shot this bull last September a week after the trail cam:)
It was nice to have a dry place, this was in 2013 the week Colorado got hammered with rain and floods.
I've always wanted to experience the golden aspens like I always see on the Truth Big Bulls videos. After I killed my bull in 2010 I headed North to Colorado where I spent a few days with Mike. This was taken in a small stand that we went through one day, the only real aspens in color I have been in out West.
You guys and your tents are killin' me! lol!
My 30'camper is as far as I get to "roughing it" these days! ;-)
The last load. Then on the way home.
A photo for Les, from the hunt that started it for me in the Flattops in '98
Some nice scenery from that first hunt...
Packing out my first bull on rented horses
Some early experimentation with the Hennessey "Freezer Bag" Hammock...
My friend Clark loading up Whiskey and Cracker Jack...
After killing my first bull in '98 I carved a memorial in an aspen tree. I returned to the scene of the crime in 2003 and found the tree.
Believe it or not, the stomach contents from the bull I killed in '98 were still there on the ground in '03!
One of my favorites going back to my first trip for elk. I think I was 18.
Only daylight shot i got of camp last year- setting up
A luxury I don't get when backpacking in- Hot links or Brats for lunch
A beautiful Wyo bowl.
Hmmmm...not loading my pic for some reason???
Nick, I'll take your word that it's a beautiful Wyo bull, but you'll have to go a little south into CO if you want a beautiful "bowl"! lol!
Colorado 2013.. May never see the high country again, but not giving up just yet...wvarcher
This one is my favorite. My 9 year old boy last September.
Depends on what part of the area I'm hunting, sometimes this is camp and sometimes I spike for a few days then go back for a shower.
Spike camp! My brother took this picture and without me knowing sent it to my wife Amy. His caption said "I don't know why but he keeps calling his bed roll Amy".
Are you elk hunting in your Dockers? LOL!
noguts, what are the holes in his antlers? Is that just a picture flaw?
Haha Mike, GBA those are black fly's
Sons first Bull. On foot pack just the two of us. Great Memories.
My buddies first spike camp set up!! LOL
No elk pics. But a big thanks to everyone for sharing your memories! I wish there was a like button. I'd hit like to all the pics!! Thx again and a great post!!
Here is our elk camp. Needed the stove since it rained almost every.
Sub par picture of a sub par tent taken with a sub par camera by a sub par photographer of the last vestiges of a phenomenal sunset on a great hunt. BB I am not.
The first one was Idaho, the rest are WY.
Great pics, keep them coming.
Sorry for the few double posts...here's some elk camp scenery to get you in the mood for September...
I've got a ton of elk camp pics, but as I scrolled through all of these cool pics you guys have posted, all I could think about is that we live in the greatest country in the world.
Where else, for nothing more than the price of the tag and gas to get there, along with a bit of boot leather, can the average citizens go and do what is shown in all of these pictures?
Great stuff guys.
Cozy camps guys.
My bivy camp for 7 days, 3 miles in.
Paul
Packing out and down hill!
My best, Paul
2014 Camp. Above pic was the view
Lots of great pictures added here! Is it September yet? Randy hit the nail on the head.....it's pretty awesome we can get the opportunities to do and see what we do here in the USA!
My brother's '06 Washington bull, headed out to the cooler.
One more of my brother's '06 Washington bull.
Headed in to the Gospel Hump wilderness, Idaho, '09.
Kelty Noah's Tarp home away from home, Gospel Hump wilderness, Idaho.
Great friends around elk camp fire. There was whiskey involved...if I remember correctly...
Bucket List: Horseback Colorado elk hunting trip-Check!
Solo hunt 2013 set up at 10,000 feet, it was a night of light rain and bugling bulls.
The morning of the opener - Wyoming 2014
Colorado, first elk hunt 2014.
Long early morning hike up from the ranch house each morning.
C3 awesome pic of milky way.
the best stars I have ever seen in my life were in the Wind Rivers, Wy followed by a close second in the City of Rocks, ID. great pics C3; mine only exist in my head.
Big Dog, I know right where those tents were set up in 70, drove past them several times. What was the name of the older gentleman with you I believe he worked in timber business.
Colorado 2014 elk hunt. Really need to take some pics like c3.
wrong picture! this one. the date was wrong on the camera.
Great thread. Colorado 2013
Where I shot my bull at 11,000 ft!!
My ole man on his 24 year old gelding. Camp 1, CO OTC
Camp 2, CO OTC. No bivy this year.
That last one is about 50 yards from where I had a very nice 6x6 come running up and stop 15 yards from me - no way to even get my bow up - winded me and away he went.
These 2 wallows were just stomped.
