Well still working on getting pics from the last 5 hunters. It was a tuff week at camp ....a very early spring had bears eating poplar ...temps were near 80 after the first two days and a forest fire had camp in a haze ....but a tuff week at Lone Wolf Camps is still a good week. Here is the tally 19.6" 19.4" 18.6" 17.4"sow 17"blonde 1st week 21" 20.6 So thats a 19.1 average for 2015 :) Pics to follow

Brad Cocco..... This is first minute of hunt...19"+ bear... Brad decided to wait :) He ended up mis-judging a nice sow as a being bigger bear...field judging big bears can be hard!!

It's a bit unnerving how these bears sometimes have no fear of humans. Was Brad on the ground when he took that picture?

That's a cool picture with the bear in the background!! Have a great hunt.

Great job, congrats to all!
Good illustration how much more score is added with the width.
Seems they all peak out on length, then get wider as they get older...
guess it works that way with bears too....

Yup he was on the ground.

They need to scare those bears when they are like that and run them a bit so they dont lose fear of humans...they are more dangerous without that fear. If they dont run off when you pull in to bait...that is a problem in my opinion.

They will put fear into the bear when an arrow penetrates into the animal. Again, COOL picture!!

That bear didnt lose fear of humans ....he just might not know what one is.....its so remote they have bears step out of the bush that have never seen a person....its a very cool place to hunt!

Love the picture, but I do feel bad for Brad. It would have been awesome just to walk into a bait and take a shot on a P&Y bear! I have been on 3 bear hunts and I am just now starting to feel comfortable on judging them. Just like anything there is no substitute for experience.

Brad should not feel to bad; it is very easy to misjudge bears. In 2013 I shot a sow thinking I was shooting a big boar. It was a total shock when Brien told me I had shot a sow. Not only did the sow fool me it fooled my friend who was sitting in a tree next to me giving me the "thumbs up" before I took my shot. We both thought she was a big boar.

That is impressive. What did he weigh. I shot a bear with a 19 7/16 skull a week ago that weighed 350#. Hope he turns out half as good as yours. G

Some bowsiters may know and have hunted with Mike Connett from Widerack. He was on the hunt with them last year too. His story is in the current issue of Eastman's Bowhunting Journal. Pretty good read.
I was in Bill's studio in 2013. He does awesome work. I wish I had known about him when I killed my 2012 bear. He'll be getting my next bear, thats for sure.
