moving up to 460 total weight this year from 365 total weight, but not due to lack of penetration. Once I stopped using Rage in 2008, and went back to quality fixed blade like trophy taker terminal t-lock and VPA I have put a lot of arrows through some good size whitetails with energy to spare. I just moved up in weight in case I do moose or elk some day. Matthews Z7 set at 64#

Well I am using traditional gear so heavier than most... I'm shooting 625gr, at about 178 fps from a 61lbs recurve. I shoot and love the original Magnus Snuffer heads for whitetail. If I do go after elk I'll switch to a 2 blade head.

55# @ 28". 685 grains total weight, 225 grain Tuffhead with 75 grain titanium adapter on a 30 " .340 FMJ.

That's my arrow for whitetail and moose this year.

Depends on the bow, (longbow's and recurve's). All are at 53#'s @ 28.25 or higher. Most in the mid 60's. One comes in at 76#'s @ 28.25. 500 or so grains from carbon's to 650 grain woodies.

My compound is set at 72#'s at a 27.5 inch draw. My arrows weigh 510 grains from that bow.

Arrow weight is over rated unless you are too low or too high. Other than affecting performance from the extreme edges, arrow weight discussions are just that. Get 'em tuned, with a good head that won't bend over on the tip when hitting bone, with a practical weight arrow and, it'll shoot through whatever you desire. God Bless

450 gr with bow maxed at 70#+. Same setup for chipmunks, rabbits, moose, and everything in between.

Currently hunting a trophy size chipmunk that I've missed 3-4 times. His days are limited.

What broadhead is best for chipmunks? I would guess you almost always get a pass through. Thank you for the smile.
