I was having a hard time comparing points on my topo map with spots in google earth.

I found this link: http://www.wesleypicotte.com/landscape-photography-blog/landscape-photography-tips-and-techniques/how-to-overlay-google-earth-with-topographic-maps

It describes how to add topo data to google earth. Now, I can drop pins at all my interesting spots. Then, I can hide the topo layer and go back to the normal google earth view.

I don't know if this will help other folks but it made my life MUCH easier...

Probably another way to skin the cat, but I use the Earthpoint server in much the same way. (Came recommended by WapitiBob, and that was good enough for me!)

Open in Google Earth (Or GE Pro)

Thanks Z..

State, BLM, Forest, etc layer server:

Save the file to your GE hunting folder and open in GE. It'll take a minute to load.
