Well I finally made it up scouting for my upcoming Mountain Goat hunt this past weekend. This is actually my second trip. It's a 7 hour drive for me and I live in Cheyenne.

I sure wish I lived closer but I'm not complaining since I defied the odds a drew a tag.

It's some really beautiful country. I can't believe how green the forage is this time of year. We've received a lot of rain in Wyoming this spring. It should be a good year for horn growth for all species.

I hiked quite a few miles to learn the area since I've never stepped foot in it. I actually saw some goats this trip.

I'm not BB but I took a few pictures.

I hiked into this lake which is about 2 miles in. I got up high on a bluff and could see most of the area. I found a Easton camo XX75 2117 with a bear razorhead. It'd been laying up there for some time. I suspect someone shot at a deer or elk back in the 80's or 90's.

Young billy in the bunch. Most were nannies and kids. Took this picture at about 20yds from him.

Some more nannies and kids feeding.

I can start hunting them the 15th of August.

I hope to find a bigger billy.

I'll be hunting them for 2 weeks.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. I work at the refinery in Cheyenne and one of my co-workers drew a goat tag too.
