This is the same deer. The first pic is from last year and the second is from this year. Any thoughts on gross score and age?

Active Shooter, I agree with you and thanks for the feedback. I think he is probably 5. While he did put on some inches, growth was not overwhelming. Also, the velvet makes him look a bit bigger in the second pic. This buck is on the hit list this year.

cityhunter, I think you are probably right but he is close. I am guessing he is 90% of max... which is a random guess based on progression from last year to this one. Once his velvet falls he will not look so much bigger year over year.
At this point I think the potential positives of waiting on him for another year are outweighed by the potential negative of loosing him.

That broadside look at his body from last year looks like a 3 1/2 year old deer. He's got good genetics and if he's 4 1/2 this year (that's what it looks like to me), then he will blow up into a solid 155+ if you let him grow one more year.. Hard to pass up this year, but would be worth it!
