Best Day back pack for a 2015 Idaho elk hunt

I like the Eberlestock X-1 for one specific reason. It keeps the bow above the waist. When I sit down, I don't have to worry about the cam being lower than the pack. I'm sure there are lots of great packs, but maybe be aware of this feature.

I just take the loin, tenderloin, and antlers on the first load. My Crooked Horn Trailblazer II daypack does this no sweat. Then I come back with the frame pack.

I want a pack I can shoot with comfortably. I never take off the Trailblazer. I like it for shooting, because the main weight is at waist level, and there's no weight around the shoulders. It also has a fold-down pouch that allows you to strap your bow (or rifle) to your back.

I travel light (maybe 25 pounds when I'm hunting).

Best of Luck Jeff

It is hard to beat a kifaru. There are lots of good packs. I wouldn't buy a cookie cutter pack.
