My hunting buddy and I are looking for a guided elk hunt in 2017. We've done successful diy mule deer hunts but struck out with our elk hunt. We're looking to do one really good guided elk hunt and hopefully we learn something about elk so we can be better at diy hunting. I currently have 6-7 points for most western states and my buddy has 2 for most states. This is what we're looking for.
Archery rut hunt
Good elk quality(290" or better)
Good elk quantities
Prefer something scenic
Wall tent or spike tent, don't need a lodge
Horses are ok
Would like to keep it under $6k
Was thinking Western Wyoming but am open to other states

My trip to Rocking R has me going back in /16. I'm not a horse fan and have spent enough days in tents to appreciate a comfortable bed and hot shower. We were into elk every day I was there and was warm for hunting.
